Kyle Lewis, the Seattle Mariners' 2016 first-round pick, will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL and torn medial and lateral meniscus in his right knee, the club announced Wednesday.
The 21-year-old outfielder suffered the injury in the seventh inning of Tuesday's contest against the Single-A Tri-City Dust Devils, when he was involved in a bad collision at home plate. Lewis, playing for the Mariners' Single-A affiliate in Everett, Wash., left the game under his own power, but an MRI later revealed the extent of the injury.
Lewis was drafted 11th overall by the Mariners. He'll finish the 2016 season with a .299/.385/.530 slash line.
