Mets' Matt Harvey: Undergoes surgery Monday
Harvey (shoulder) had surgery in St. Louis on Monday to repair his thoracic outlet syndrome, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Analysis:
Harvey's up-and-down 2016 season is officially over, and it can only go down as a huge disappointment for the Mets and fantasy owners alike -- he'll finish with a 4-10 record and 4.86 ERA over 17 starts. Other MLB pitchers like Josh Beckett and Jaime Garcia have come back from this injury successfully, so Harvey will rehab and set his sights on next season. He'll also be another year removed from Tommy John surgery, which can't hurt.
