Tigers' Jordan Zimmermann: Fails to post quality start Thursday
Zimmermann (9-4) allowed five runs, four of which were earned, on nine hits and two walks while striking out three over six innings, but received no decision Thursday at the Rays.
Analysis:
After allowing a run in the first inning, Zimmermann was tagged for four runs in the third inning, but the Tigers' offense came up big late in the contest to take him off the hook for a potential loss. Since owning a 2.58 ERA on June 3, he's now failed to post a quality start in four of his last five starts to raise his ERA to 3.95. He'll make his next start Tuesday at the Indians.
