Cain suffers hamstring strain, will undergo MRI

The Kansas City Royals' injury woes continued Tuesday, as center fielder Lorenzo Cain was diagnosed with a left hamstring strain after making an early exit from his club's 8-4 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.
Cain, who pulled up lame and was lifted for pinch-runner Jarrod Dyson after trying to beat out a grounder to shortstop in the seventh inning, will be re-evaluated and undergo an MRI on Wednesday, manager Ned Yost told reporters.
An All-Star for the first time last season, Cain has appeared in all but three of Kansas City's games in 2016, hitting .291/.337/.418 (98 OPS+) with eight homers, six stolen bases, and 1.9 WAR heading into Tuesday's contest.
