Two days after reuniting with shortstop Jose Reyes following signing him to a minor-league deal, the New York Mets worked out another free agent they've shown various degrees of interest in.

Infielder Yulieski Gourriel worked out at the club's Florida complex Monday, which the Cuban posted pictures of on his Instagram.

Gourriel, who was spotted in Los Angeles working out with the Dodgers just four days ago, is an intriguing target for clubs after he hit .488/.569/.858 with 11 home runs in 35 games last year with Industriales, and played 15 years in the Serie Nacional.

The 32-year-old Cuban, who is one of the top talents to ever come out of Cuba, has been on the radar of major-league teams since his first World Baseball Classic in 2006.

Gourriel and his younger brother Lourdes Gourriel Jr. defected from Cuba in February after the pair fled from the Cuban national team hotel during a competition in the Dominican Republic.

The elder Gourriel brother was declared a free agent two weeks ago, but cannot sign with a club until July 2nd due to Major League Baseball's international signing rules.
