Nationals' Gio Gonzalez: Suffers sixth straight defeat against Brewers
Gonzalez (3-7) allowed six runs on six hits, struck out five and walked one over three innings in a loss to the Brewers on Saturday.
Analysis:
It was his shortest outing since Aug. 15, as he only survived 69 pitches. In his last two appearances, Gonzalez has allowed 11 runs in 8.1 innings, and since May 23, he has an 0-6 record with a 8.44 ERA, which makes this likely the worst stretch of his career. For the season, Gonzalez now has a 4.73 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, .266 batting average against and 88 strikeouts in 85.2 innings. His next start will be Thursday against the Reds.
