Blue Jays' Jose Bautista: Leaves game with toe injury, scheduled for X-rays
Bautista exited Thursday's game with big toe soreness and he will be sent in for precautionary X-rays, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.
Analysis:
Bautista suffered the injury when he crashed into the right field wall in Thursday's game against the Phillies and he was immediately replaced in the outfield. Fortunately, according to Chisholm, the injury is not related to the thigh injury that held him out of three games earlier in the week. Still, toe injuries can be difficult to play through, so the precautionary X-rays Thursday should paint a clearer picture of the extent of Bautista's injury. If Bautista is unable to play Friday, Ezequiel Carrera would likely take over in right field.
