Tom Brady turned the New England Patriots from a moribund franchise into a championship organization. Could he have done the same in baseball?

He was a star athlete at Serra High School in San Mateo, Calif., on both the gridiron and the diamond, and his skills were impressive enough that the Expos took a flier on him in the draft, and tried to convince him to join their organization.
