Twenty-one years ago today, the 17-year-old was drafted as a catcher in the 18th round of the MLB draft by the Montreal Expos. He was a star athlete at Serra High School in San Mateo, Calif., on both the gridiron and the diamond, and his skills were impressive enough that the Expos took a flier on him in the draft, and tried to convince him to join their organization.

Alas, Brady never took the chance to become a baseball hero in Quebec. He had already committed to the University of Michigan as a quarterback and didn't sign with the Expos, who eventually moved to Washington in 2005. Based on how everything turned out for Brady, he made the right decision.
