Jacoby Ellsbury had a routine fly ball in the palm of his hands, and the next second it was gone.
Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Justin Smoak sent a routine fly into center field that proved to be too hot to handle for the New York Yankees center fielder who dropped the easy catch. To make matters worse, Ellsbury dropped it again and then nearly a third time before he was finally able to make a throw, but it was too late.
Michael Saunders moved from second to third on the play and later scored to give the Blue Jays a 2-0 lead.
