Astros' Carlos Gomez: Likely to return from DL on Tuesday
Gomez (ribs) is expected to be activated from the DL on Tuesday, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis:
After going 5-for-17 in his first four rehab games at Double-A Corpus Christi, Gomez will play what his expected to be his fifth and final game with the team Sunday. Astros manager A.J. Hinch noted that Gomez has told the team that he's "feeling a lot better," so it looks as though he'll be ready to return from the DL in the 15-day minimum. Gomez owns an ugly .182 batting average across 121 at-bats, but he should still be in line for a near-everyday role in center field upon his activation.
