Giants' Madison Bumgarner: Pitches well, but doesn't factor in decision Saturday

Bumgarner tossed six innings of one-run ball while striking out six against the Rockies on Saturday. He did not factor in the decision in the eventual 10-5 win.

Analysis:

Bumgarner was let down by his bullpen Saturday. He watched a three-run lead vanish immediately after he was pulled from the game. Even though he didn't leave with the win, Bumgarner tossed another quality start, his eighth in a row. His ERA now sits at a sparkling 2.12 through 10 starts. Almost all of Bumgarner's ratios are on par with his career averages, but his 10.45 K/9 is well above his 8.78 career mark. His next start comes against the woeful Braves on Thursday, so he has a realistic opportunity to improve on his already stellar numbers.
