Phillies' Adam Morgan: Takes loss despite quality start Saturday
Morgan (1-2) gave up four hits, two earned runs and two walks over six innings in Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Braves. He also struck out a batter.
Analysis:
The 26-year-old rebounded well from a seven earned run-performance against the Reds in his last start, but couldn't buy any run support at all on the afternoon. It was the second quality start out of the last three trips to the mound for Morgan, as he'd also shut down this same Braves squad on May 10 for his first victory of the season. He still has plenty to improve on, and will try to produce a quality outing against someone other than Atlanta when he faces off against Jon Lester and the Cubs on Friday.
