Red Sox's David Price: Shelled by Yankees in Saturday loss
Price (4-1) surrendered seven hits, six earned runs and three walks over 4.2 innings in an 8-2 loss to the Yankees on Saturday. He struck out four.
Analysis:
The veteran's track record against the Yankees has been a mixed bag over the last three seasons, but he usually excels in Yankee Stadium. Price had a 6-0 record and 2.01 ERA in his last eight starts at the park before Saturday and also came into the game having won his last nine decisions overall. All of that changed early against a resurgent Yankees squad that touched him up for six earned runs for the second time in less than a week. The defeat was Price's first in a Red Sox uniform and ballooned his ERA up to 6.75. He'll try to rebound next Thursday, when he takes the hill against Dallas Keuchel and the Astros.
