Alex Rodriguez, the New York Yankees' divisive DH, did a nice job endearing himself to the Fenway faithful on Friday, generously giving his bat to a young fan who had recently lost his father after smacking a second-inning solo shot against the Red Sox.
Still, Boston is David Ortiz's f------ city.
Determined to upstage Rodriguez, the beloved 40-year-old treated the crowd to another classic Big Papi moment late in Friday's series opener, smacking a go-ahead, two-run homer off Dellin Betances in the eighth inning and hugging Kevin Millar's kids (seated in the primo seats, of course) on his way back to the dugout.
Seriously, how can you not love this guy?
