Sandoval too sore to be evaluated by doctors
Pablo Sandoval went to get a second opinion on his injured shoulder, but he was too sore do undergo a full evaluation, manager John Farrell said.
The Boston Red Sox third baseman, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left shoulder, traveled Monday to Florida to see specialist Dr. James Andrews. Upon his arrival, Farrell described a strange scenario where Sandoval didn't get any further information on his shoulder.
“He’s still very sore,” Farrell said, according to the Boston Globe's Peter Abraham. “To say that there was a full exam conducted, Dr. Andrews couldn’t get that today because of the soreness."
Sandoval will be evaluated again in two weeks, likely by Andrews. He instead was given an injection to calm the inflammation, and he's expected to rejoin the club Tuesday.

It's still unclear when Sandoval sustained the injury, but his agent said there's "significant inflammation" in his non-throwing shoulder.
Sandoval lost his starting job to Travis Shaw, and has only made one start this season.
