 The Padres have clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2006. San Diego will be looking for its first playoff series win since 1998. San Diego has lost five of its last seven games after winning a season-best eight straight games.

 The Padres are 9-2 in Dinelson Lamet starts this season and have won the last six. Lamet has pitched 6+ IP, allowed 1 R or fewer and K'd 10+ men in three straight starts. SAN FRANCISCO (AP)  The San Diego Padres are still very much counting on a healthy Dinelson Lamet making his playoff start next week.
The big right-hander gave them a scare when he reported biceps tightness and made an early exit Friday night - but, for now, Lamet will throw in a couple of days with expectations of pitching Wednesday at Petco Park in San Diego's first postseason berth in 14 years.
