 The Braves set a modern NL record (since 1900) yesterday with 29 runs scored in a 29-9 defeat of the Marlins. It was the Braves' first win by 20+ runs since a 24-4 win over the Louisville Colonels in September 1898, when the franchise was in Boston and known as the Beaneaters.

Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer will finally face the visiting Atlanta Braves when the teams meet in the finale of a four-game series on Sunday.
The Braves (27-19) have won two of the first three games and five of nine meetings against the Nationals (17-27). Atlanta leads Philadelphia by 2 1/2 games in the National League East.

WASHINGTON (AP)  Adam Duvall and Ozzie Albies each hit a two-run homer off a laboring Max Scherzer, and the Atlanta Braves rallied past the Washington Nationals 8-4 on Sunday.
Kyle Wright pitched six innings for his first major league win, helping Atlanta take three of four from Washington.
