 San Francisco is 5-1 against Arizona this season, holding the Diamondbacks to a .164 batting average. These division rivals have split their 30 meetings since 2017, and Arizona's 3.73 runs per game at Oracle Park the last four seasons is its lowest in any NL West ballpark.

 The Giants split two games on Tuesday and Wednesday in Colorado and are 10-4 since Aug. 18. Over their first 24 games, the Giants had a -1.8 runs per game differential but have a +2.8 runs per game differential in their last 14 games.

 Arizona was swept in its most recent series, dropping all three games at Dodger Stadium. After a 13-11 start to the year, the Diamondbacks have dropped 13 of their last 14, with the only win in that stretch coming on Aug. 28 against the Giants.

 From July 25-Aug. 15, Donovan Solano had a 17-game hitting streak, the longest in the National League this season. Since his streak ended, Solano is batting just .204 (11-for-54).

 Ketel Marte produced a single and two doubles in the Diamondbacks' last series at San Francisco. Marte is batting .330 in his career at Oracle Park with a 1.000 OPS, his highest of any park in which he has played more than five games.

 Madison Bumgarner is scheduled to come off the injured list to start Saturday -- his first time pitching against his former club of 11 years. Players currently on the Giants have a .209 (9-for-43) career batting average against Bumgarner.

The Arizona Diamondbacks hope to build on just their second win in the past 15 games on Saturday, with a star pitcher returning from injury to face the team with which he won three World Series titles.
It so happens that Madison Bumgarner's first start since Aug. 9 is scheduled to be against the team with which he became a star, the San Francisco Giants. Bumgarner is set to be activated from the 10-day injured list in time to take the mound at Oracle Park for the first time since last season, after which he signed with Arizona.

D-backs' Bumgarner returns to San Francisco to face Giants

SAN FRANCISCO (AP)  Ketel Marte homered, doubled twice and singled as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the San Francisco Giants 6-5 on Friday night to snap a five-game losing streak.
Marte went deep in the first inning off Giants lefty Tyler Anderson. The Diamondbacks escaped a late jam and ended an eight-game losing streak on the road.
