 In their first game of yesterday's doubleheader, the Mariners led the Padres by four runs before allowing seven in the seventh inning to lose, 10-7. It was their first blown lead loss when leading by at least four runs in the seventh inning or later since blowing a four-run lead on August 11, 2017 against the Angels.

 Los Angeles' 10-22 record is its worst start to a season in franchise history. Since August 12, Angels starters have combined for an 8.95 ERA, worst in baseball.

 Mike Trout has had a hit in all five of his games against the Mariners this season, posting a 1.209 OPS. His 1.075 career OPS against the Mariners is the third highest by any active player against any opponent (minimum 500 PA), behind Albert Pujols versus Pittsburgh (1.113) and Trout against Texas (1.079).

 Anthony Rendon snapped his 14-game hitting streak with a 0-for-3 performance on August 25. He's hitting .458 since August 10 (the start of his hitting streak), highest by any player in baseball (minimum 50 plate appearances).

Jo Adell will be in the starting lineup for the Los Angeles Angels on Monday afternoon against the Seattle Mariners in Anaheim, Calif., and will take his spot in right field, which the Angels are hoping will be his for years to come.
Adell was not on the major league roster to start the season. But after Justin Upton's slow start, the Angels decided to call up the 21-year old on Aug. 4 and handed him the job in right field.

Angels, Mariners to close out four-game set

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP)  Marco Gonzales retired 21 consecutive Angels while throwing a four-hitter, and Jose Marmolejos hit a tiebreaking homer in the sixth inning of the Seattle Mariners' 2-1 victory over Los Angeles on Monday.
Gonzales (4-2) had eight strikeouts and didn't walk a batter until the ninth inning of his second career complete game. The left-hander said he felt an uncommon determination after a tumultuous week in which the Mariners elected to skip a game in San Diego to protest the shooting of Jacob Blake.
