 The Astros swept a two-game set from the Rockies in Houston by identical 2-1 score lines. Houston has now won seven consecutive games against Colorado, which is tied for the fourth longest active winning streak among all interleague matchups (based on current league affiliations).

 Houston has now played six games which have gone 10 or more innings this season, the most in MLB. However, Tuesday's 2-1 extra-inning win over Colorado was just the Astros' second win in those games.

 After winning each of its first five series this season, Colorado has lost each of its last three series (2-6). Four of the Rockies' six losses over that span and eight of their 10 losses this season have been by two runs or fewer, tied for second most in MLB this season (Royals, 9).

 Framber Valdez allowed one run and four hits while earning the win against Seattle on August 14, a game which saw his team post 11 runs of support. That was just one fewer run of support than the Astros had given Valdez in his previous eight starts combined (1-6 pitcher record, 2-6 team record).

 Ryan Castellani had his scoreless innings streak snapped at 8.0 when Nick Solak homered off him on the first pitch of the fifth inning of his second start on August 14. Castellani's 0.58 WHIP through two career starts is the best in Rockies history through two career starts.

 Yuli Gurriel had four hits, two in each game, against the Rockies but no RBI. For the season, Gurriel has just nine RBI despite leading the team with 27 hits, all from lineup positions four through six. Among the 29 players with 25 hits this season, Gurriel has the third most at-bats per RBI at 10.00.

German Marquez has elite stuff, which is why he was the Colorado Rockies' Opening Day starter. The right-hander has since pitched like an ace, but he doesn't have the record of one.
Despite sporting a 2.25 ERA and having yet to allow more than two earned runs in an outing, Marquez is 2-3 in his five starts. He will look to keep his string of strong outings going Thursday, while at the same time ending another streak.

DENVER (AP)  Abraham Toro homered in the second of two five-run innings by the Astros and Houston extended its major league-best winning streak to eight games with a 10-8 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Thursday.
Jose Altuve had two hits, including a two-run double that fueled a five-run second inning, when the Astros batted around against German Marquez (2-4). It was Altuve's second straight multihit game since being returned to the No. 2 spot in the batting order after three games in the No. 6 hole following early-season struggles.
