 The White Sox won the season series against Cleveland in 2019, 11-8. The 11 wins were the most by Chicago over Cleveland in a single season since 2012 (11-7).

 The Indians allowed just five runs in their season-opening series win against the Royals. Cleveland starting pitchers went 2-0 with a 1.89 ERA and had 30 strikeouts and just two walks in 19.0 innings.

 Leury Garcia hit .413 against Cleveland in 2019, including four 3+ hit games. The four three-hit games were the most by any player versus Cleveland in 2019, no other player had more than two such games.

Strong starting pitching remains the name of the game for Cleveland, which has seen its rotation post a 4-0 record with a 2.32 ERA and 43 strikeouts in five contests. All five starters have worked at least six innings and allowed two or fewer earned runs in their outings.

Can Plesac extend Cleveland staff's run of dominance?

CLEVELAND (AP)  Yasmani Grandal and Eloy Jimenez hit sacrifice flies and the Chicago White Sox, who couldn't do anything against Zach Plesac for eight innings, scored four runs in the ninth - three charged to ineffective Cleveland closer Brad Hand - to beat the Indians 4-0 on Wednesday night.
The Indians got eight terrific innings from Plesac, their No. 5 starter who truck out a career-high 11, shut out the White Sox on three hits and continued a strong run of Cleveland pitching to start the season.
