 The Yankees have now won 11 straight postseason games against the Twins dating back to the 2004 ALDS. That ties the longest postseason winning streak all-time by any team against a single opponent (Red Sox beat Angels 11 consecutive times from 1986-2008).

 Didi Gregorius became the first Yankee shortstop ever to hit a postseason grand slam with his third inning shot on Saturday. Gregorius now has three career playoff games with the Yankees with at least three RBI, tying him with Derek Jeter for most such games in the playoffs by a Yankee shortstop all-time.

 Luis Severino returned from injury to strike out 17 batters across 12 innings of work in three abbreviated starts late in September. Severino's last outing in the playoffs came in Game 3 of the 2018 ALDS against Boston, where he allowed six earned runs over three innings in a 16-1 Yankees loss. Severino has a 6.26 ERA across six postseason starts, and of those six starts, only once has he lasted at least five innings.

 Jake Odorizzi averaged 10.08 strikeouts per nine innings in 2019, the third-highest single-season mark in franchise history by a starting pitcher behind Tom Hall (10.66 SO/9 IP in 1970) and Johan Santana (10.46 in 2004) (min. 150 IP). Odorizzi made two starts against the Yankees in the regular season; one at home and one on the road. In the road start, Odorizzi threw six scoreless innings and allowed two hits in a 7-3 Minnesota win. In his start at Target Field against New York in July, Odorizzi allowed nine earned runs on 10 hits in four innings in a 10-7 Yankees win.

 DJ LeMahieu has scored four runs across the first two games, tying him with Roger Maris and Enos Slaughter for the most by a player in his first two playoff games with the Yankees. LeMahieu also has four hits and four RBI in the ALDS -- the last player with at least four runs, hits and RBI in his first two playoff games with any team was Jim Edmonds with the Cardinals in 2000.

 Edwin Encarnacion owns a .302/.415/.633 slash line with 17 home runs and 46 RBI in 45 career games at Target Field. His 17 home runs are tied with Kansas City's Salvador Perez for most by any visiting player in the history of the park.

Right-hander Luis Severino will take the mound as the New York Yankees attempt to complete a three-game sweep of their American League Division Series with the Minnesota Twins on Monday night in Minneapolis.
History, not to mention a well-rested bullpen, will be on New York's side entering Game 3 of the best-of-five series. The Yankees have won a major league record 12 consecutive playoff games over the Twins, including 10-4 and 8-2 victories at Yankee Stadium in Games 1 and 2. Minnesota also has dropped an MLB record 15 straight postseason games.
