 The Angels have lost three straight games directly on the heels of a four-game win streak. Los Angeles went 15-13 in June -- in the 15 wins, the Angels averaged 7.3 runs per game with 36 home runs, while in the 13 losses they averaged 2.6 runs per game with 10 home runs.

 The Rangers lost two of three against the Rays over the weekend, snapping a streak of nine consecutive series without a series loss.

 These teams have split 10 matchups so far this season, though the Rangers swept the Angels in three games in the only series played in Texas. The Rangers are 13-5 at home against AL West teams this season, equaling the number of divisional home wins that they had all of last season (13-25).

The series finale against the Texas Rangers on Thursday could be more difficult, knowing Tyler Skaggs was supposed to pitch that night.

Canning in tough spot as Angels close series at Texas

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP)  Tyler Skaggs' No. 45 jersey still hung prominently over his locker in the visiting clubhouse after the Los Angeles Angels wrapped up their first series since the 27-year-old pitcher's death.
While the grieving Angels lost 9-3 in the finale against the Rangers in the Fourth of July game that Skaggs had been scheduled to start, Los Angeles took the first two games during the series after he was found unresponsive in his hotel room in Texas.
