 The Rays are 2-5 in the first seven games of their 10-game road trip. Despite the recent struggles away from Tampa, the Rays still have the second-best road record in the majors at 25-15, trailing only the Twins (26-14).

 At 50-27, the Twins are a half game up on the Yankees for the best record in the American League. Minnesota has held the top record in the AL for 40 days this season -- the last season in which the Twins held the best record in the AL for longer was in 1991, the year of the team's last World Series title.

 The Twins won three of four games against the Rays when these teams met in Tampa earlier this season, despite being outscored in the series, 26-23. Both teams excelled with RISP in that series, as the Rays batted .433 (13-for-30), and the Twins batted .412 (14-for-34) in those situations.

 Blake Snell lasted just 0.1 innings in his last outing against the Yankees on June 19, and carries a 10.29 ERA across four starts in June. Snell has allowed at least five earned runs in four different starts this season, after only having two such outings in 31 starts in 2018.

 Eddie Rosario has hit 20 home runs this season, becoming the first Twin to reach that mark before July since Justin Morneau in 2007. Rosario's 57 RBI this season are also the most pre-July since Morneau had 64 in the 2009 season.

 Since playing his first game with the Rays on August 1 of last year, Tommy Pham has .417 on-base percentage. Among players with 400+ PA over that time, Pham's OBP ranks fourth in MLB, behind Mike Trout (.463), Christian Yelich (.434) and Cody Bellinger (.427).
