 The Indians are an AL-best 14-6 (.700) in June, and are now a season-high seven games above .500. Cleveland has either won or tied its last six series, the second-longest active such streak in the majors behind the Rangers (8).

 The Royals are 5-3 over their last eight games, including a four-game series split against the first-place Twins. Over this eight-game stretch, Kansas City is batting .360 with runners in scoring position, with 36 RBI in 84 plate appearances.

 Kansas City swept Cleveland in three games in the first series of the season between these teams in April. The last time that the Royals won their first four games in a season against the Indians was in 2003.
