The Cardinals took two of three games from the Reds in St. Louis over the weekend. The Cards are 12-4 at home this season and 5-6 on the road. St. Louis' rotation has a 3.49 ERA at home and a 6.58 ERA away from home.

The Nationals dropped two of three games to the Padres in Washington over the weekend, their third consecutive series loss. The Nats have won the series opener just once this season (at the Mets on April 4) and have scored five or more runs in just one of those games (five runs on April 22 at the Rockies).

The Cardinals and Nationals met in the 2012 NLDS with the Cardinals winning the series in five games. Since then, St. Louis has gone 25-14 against Washington, the second-best record by an NL club against the Nats since 2013 (LAD, 27-12; regular and postseason).

Harrison Bader homered to spark a six-run fifth as the surging Cardinals rallied past Patrick Corbin and the Washington Nationals 6-3 on Monday night in the opener of a four-game series.
