 In Game 2 of the ALDS, Gerrit Cole joined Tom Seaver (Game 5 of the 1973 NLCS), as the only pitchers in MLB postseason history to have 12 or more strikeouts and zero walks in a playoff start. All 12 of Cole's strikeouts were of the swinging variety, and his 23 swing and misses generated were the most by any pitcher in a single game this postseason.

 In Game 2 of the ALDS, David Price lasted just 1.2 innings, allowing three earned runs in the shortest start of his postseason career. Price is 0-9 with a 6.03 ERA in 10 career postseason starts, however on average, his teams have provided him with just 1.96 runs of support while he's in the game. In 14 career appearances (10 starts) against Houston, Price has a 2.69 ERA, a 0.99 WHIP and 10.64 K/9 rate.

BOSTON -- Justin Verlander was asked Friday about former teammate David Price's inability to win a game as a starter in the postseason.
"Great teammate. Really enjoyed my time with David," Verlander said of when they were together in Detroit. "Him and I still talk all the time, stay in touch. And, yeah, I do find that odd (he's winless as a starter in postseason).
