 With their three-game sweep over the Cardinals, Milwaukee clinched its first postseason appearance since 2011. The Brewers have won 10 of their last 11 series overall, and trail the Cubs by one game in the standings in the NL Central.

 At 64-98 (.395), Detroit will fail to reach 70 victories for the second consecutive season. Currently the Tigers rank last in the AL in home runs (133) and total bases (2052). The only other Tiger team to finish last in the AL in both categories in a season was the 2002 team.

 In five career interleague starts, Zach Davies has four quality starts, with a 3.41 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP. In four starts in September this season, Davies has a 3.32 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP.

 In 12 starts since the All-Star break, Jordan Zimmermann is 3-7 with a 4.90 ERA and a .278 opponent batting average. Zimmermann has a 4.08 ERA in seven career starts against the Brewers, but has not faced them since 2015.

MILWAUKEE -- One month ago, the Milwaukee Brewers took a chance on veteran left-hander Gio Gonzalez. Now, he wants to reward their faith in him and he'll get a chance to do just that on the biggest stage possible.
Manager Craig Counsell announced Saturday night that Gonzalez will get the start Sunday as the Brewers try to clinch at least a share of the National League Central title when they wrap up the regular season against the Detroit Tigers at Miller Park.

MILWAUKEE (AP)  Winning seven straight games stamped the Milwaukee Brewers' ticket to meet the Chicago Cubs and their boisterous fans at Wrigley Field.
Triple Crown contender Christian Yelich and the Brewers advanced to an NL Central tiebreaker against the Cubs, putting themselves in position Sunday with an 11-0 romp over the Detroit Tigers.
