 With their three-game sweep over the Cardinals, Milwaukee clinched its first postseason appearance since 2011. The Brewers have won 10 of their last 11 series overall, and trail the Cubs by one game in the standings in the NL Central.

 At 64-98 (.395), Detroit will fail to reach 70 victories for the second consecutive season. Currently the Tigers rank last in the AL in home runs (133) and total bases (2052). The only other Tiger team to finish last in the AL in both categories in a season was the 2002 team.

 In five career interleague starts, Zach Davies has four quality starts, with a 3.41 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP. In four starts in September this season, Davies has a 3.32 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP.

 In 12 starts since the All-Star break, Jordan Zimmermann is 3-7 with a 4.90 ERA and a .278 opponent batting average. Zimmermann has a 4.08 ERA in seven career starts against the Brewers, but has not faced them since 2015.

 Christian Yelich went 0-for-0 with five walks and two runs scored in Milwaukee's most recent game. Yelich has a 1.178 OPS since the Midsummer Classic, which is on pace to the highest ever post-All-Star break mark by a Brewer in a season (minimum 250 PA).

MILWAUKEE -- It's been a full decade since the Milwaukee Brewers snapped a 26-year playoff drought, thanks in large part to a monster final week by Ryan Braun.
Braun, who came up big again three years later when the Brewers won their first NL Central crown, has been through a lot since. But now, with the team headed back to the playoffs for the first time since 2011, it's no coincidence that Braun is again playing at an elite level.

MILWAUKEE (AP)  It's going down to the last day of the regular season to decide the NL Central.
The Milwaukee Brewers moved into a tie for first place with the Chicago Cubs with one game remaining, getting two homers from Triple Crown candidate Christian Yelich to beat the Detroit Tigers 6-5 on Saturday night.
