 The Indians won their last two games with the Royals to take the weekend series and ensure a winning record against each AL Central opponent for the third straight year. The last team to have a winning record against all division opponents in three consecutive seasons was the Yankees from 2001 to 2003.

 Jose Ramirez is second in MLB with a .626 slugging percentage against right-handed pitchers, and 32 of his 37 home runs on the season have come against righties. Of the 28 players with 20 home runs against right-handed pitchers, Ramirez has the second-fewest strikeouts (52) (Fewest: Anthony Rizzo -- 42).

 The Blue Jays put up 10 runs on 16 hits to avoid being swept by the Rays. The offensive outburst broke Toronto out of a slump against Tampa Bay, as they had gathered five hits or fewer and scored no more than two runs in their previous seven games versus the Rays.

 On Wednesday, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. had his first multi-hit game since returning from a leg injury which derailed an 11-game multi-hit streak. Gurriel Jr. ranks third among American League rookies with a .293 batting average (minimum 150 plate appearances).

 RHP Shane Bieber has the highest run support average (6.56) of any pitcher who has made at least 15 starts. On the other hand, RHP Sam Gaviglio has received more than two runs of support just once in his past six starts, his only win since May 25.

 The Indians and Blue Jays played a double-header in Cleveland on May 3 after they had two games rained out earlier in the season. The winning team in each leg of the double-header scored 13 runs and there were 57 combined hits (9 home runs) on the day.

TORONTO -- The Toronto Blue Jays have been playing several of their September call-ups while the Cleveland Indians try to close in on their inevitable clinching of a division title in the American League Central.
The teams have split the first two games of a four-game series at the Rogers Centre after the Blue Jays won in 11 innings Friday night on the second walk-off home run of Kevin Pillar's career.

TORONTO (AP)  In one productive inning, Cleveland catcher Roberto Perez snapped the longest homer drought of his career and boosted his season RBI total by 50 percent.
Perez hit his first home run since April 10 and drove in a career-high four, Michael Brantley had a two-run shot and the Indians outslugged the Toronto Blue Jays 9-8 on Saturday, helping Cleveland inch closer to clinching a playoff berth.
