The Giants will meet up with the Brewers for a three-game set after the Brewers took three of four in San Francisco in July. The Giants have won seven of the last 10 games in Milwaukee, scoring 47 runs in the seven wins but just eight runs in the three losses.

San Francisco was swept by Colorado in its last series and has lost six of its last seven games. The Giants have allowed 26 runs in their last five games after allowing just four runs in their previous five games.

The Brewers took two of three from the Cubs in their last series to pull within 4.5 games of the Cubs in the NL Central and 2.0 games ahead of the Dodgers in the NL Wild Card standings. The Brewers haven't made the playoffs since 2011; only Miami has a longer playoff drought among NL teams (2004-2017).

Christian Yelich has recorded at least one hit in 19 of his last 21 games dating back to August 12. He has 25 RBI in that same span, most in MLB, and nine homers, second most behind Ronald Acuna Jr. (10).

Brandon Crawford is hitting just .177 since the All-Star break after batting .292 before the break. That .115 drop-off in batting average is second largest in MLB only to teammate Brandon Belt (.124, minimum 425 PA overall).

Derek Holland is 2-0 with a 2.42 ERA in eight starts since the All-Star break. He hasn't allowed more than four earned runs in all 26 of his starts this season -- only five other pitchers have made as many starts without allowing more than four earned runs this season (Scherzer, Nola, Cole, deGrom and Mikolas).

Christian Yelich is expected to be back in Milwaukee's starting lineup Friday night when the Brewers open a three-game series with the San Francisco Giants at Miller Park.
Brewers manager Craig Counsell rested the outfielder on Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs -- Yelich's first day off outside of scheduled team off days, since July 3.

MILWAUKEE (AP)  Jesus Aguilar has cooled off some since the All-Star break, yet still brings in clutch runs.
Aguilar hit a two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 4-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Friday night.
