 The Indians, who dropped two of three in Anaheim in April, are averaging 8.0 runs while slashing .357/.421/.557 in winning 10 straight over the Angels in Cleveland. This is tied for MLB's longest active home winning streak against any opponent, along with the Indians' home win streak against Detroit.

 The Angels opened a six-game trip getting swept in a three-game series to the Rays. Since June 10, they are a major league-worst 5-18 on the road. Angels pitchers have allowed an MLB-high 40 homers in that span and their opponents' .880 OPS is also last in the majors.

 Since July 10, Kole Calhoun is tied for the major league lead with nine homers, has a .338/.418/.824 slash line and his 1.241 OPS ranks third among MLB qualifiers. Prior to this surge on July 9, Calhoun had a .170/.220/.260 slash line and his .480 OPS ranked dead last among 199 major leaguers (min. 250 PAs).

 The Indians are scoring 44.6 percent of their runs via homers -- their highest mark since 44.8 in 2002. Their 150 homers in 2018 are their most in their first 107 games of a season since belting 163 in 2000.

 Jose Ramirez is batting an AL-best .441 (15-for-31) with runners in scoring position with two outs, among those with at least 40 plate appearances. Mike Trout, who sat out Thursday with a bruised right wrist, leads the majors in OBP in such situations at .638.

 Ramirez leads the majors with 64 extra-base hits while Francisco Lindor ranks second with 62. The last time a pair of teammates went 1-2 for the major league lead in extra-base hits was 1984, when Boston's Tony Armas and Dwight Evans led MLB with 77 extra-base hits apiece.

Kluber stands in way of Angels starting winning streak

CLEVELAND (AP)  Corey Kluber appears to be over whatever was making him look ordinary.
The two-time Cy Young Award winner pitched a three-hitter for his first shutout this season and new arrival Leonys Martin homered again for Cleveland, leading the Indians to a 3-0 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday night.
