The Giants won two of three over the Rockies last week at AT&T Park, part of a 10-2 stretch for San Francisco. In that span since June 19, the Giants have an NL-best 2.86 ERA and have given up a major league-low six home runs.

Madison Bumgarner tossed seven innings of two-hit ball in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Rockies, extending his shutout streak to 16 innings, tied for the longest single-season scoreless inning streak of his career. His last 16-inning scoreless streak was from July 21-August 2, 2013. In the lefty's last four starts against Colorado, he has a 1.44 ERA and 0.96 WHIP with 28 strikeouts over 25 innings, but has been backed by six total runs of support leaving him with an 0-1 record.

Brandon Crawford went 5-for-12 with a homer in last week's series with the Rockies, and is slashing .400/.514/.767 with seven RBI and seven runs in his last eight games. Crawford has a .443 slugging percentage since 2015, but in that same span, is slugging just .328 in 29 games at hitter-friendly Coors Field -- tied with Ian Desmond for the lowest among 22 major leaguers with at least 120 plate appearances there.

The Rockies have lost five of eight overall and are 4-10 at Coors Field since May 30. They are 15-22 at Coors Field this season, their worst home record through 37 games since 1998, when they were also 15-22.

The Rockies' Kyle Freeland opposed Bumgarner last week, and also threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball, while allowing four hits and a walk. In six starts at Coors this season, Freeland is 4-2 with a 2.95 ERA -- it's the lowest ERA by a Rockies pitcher through six home starts since 2014, when Jorge De La Rosa posted a 2.78 ERA.

Nolan Arenado has hit eight of his NL-leading 21 homers in 12 games since June 19, producing a .313/.365/.854 slash line. He homered at San Francisco last week, and in 22 home games against the Giants since 2016, he is batting .337 with five home runs, 13 doubles, 32 RBI and 19 runs.

DENVER -- The surging San Francisco Giants open a three-game series Monday at Coors Field, where they have fared poorly. But ace left-hander Madison Bumgarner, who is in vintage form, will start against the Colorado Rockies in a sequel of sorts.
Bumgarner (1-2, 2.51) and Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland (7-6, 3.29), who has been the Rockies' best starter, opposed each other Wednesday at AT&T Park. Both starters pitched seven scoreless innings before the Giants won 1-0 on Brandon Crawford's walk-off homer.
