The Royals are tied with the Mets for the worst record in MLB during June at 5-19. In June, Kansas City ranks last in baseball in batting average (.190), on-base percentage (.253), slugging percentage (.302), and runs per game (2.11).

After losing the first four games of their 10-game road trip, the Mariners bounced back to win five of the next six games, including a four-game sweep of the Orioles. Surging Mariners take on frustrated Royals

SEATTLE (AP)  Marco Gonzales was looking for some retribution against the Kansas City Royals.
Gonzales (8-5) pitched a six-hitter for his first career complete game in the Seattle Mariners' 4-1 victory on Friday. The left-hander struck out seven and didn't issue a walk while throwing just 96 pitches.
