The Mariners were swept by the Yankees in their last series and have now lost four straight games. In those four games, the Mariners have posted a 6.95 ERA and hit .220. It is their longest losing streak of the season.

The Red Sox will face two left-handed starters in this weekend's series, Wade LeBlanc and Marco Gonzales. They have gone 8-9 when facing a left-handed starter this season compared to 41-17 versus a right-handed starter.

Wade LeBlanc has yet to allow more than three earned runs in a start this season. He has posted a 2.06 ERA as a starter compared to a 4.61 in five games in relief.

BOSTON -- Having rallied twice to survive a wild 14-10 shootout on Friday night, the Boston Red Sox send a new ace to the mound in the second game of a three-game series with the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night.
Eduardo Rodriguez, winner of six straight starts, is 9-1 on the season, with his team winning 13 of his 14 outings. He will be Boston's starter Saturday and will face Mike Leake in a rematch of last Sunday's Boston win in Seattle.

Red Sox hope hits keep coming against Mariners

BOSTON (AP)  The toughest moment of Mike Leake's stellar night was missing a chance for a shutout.
Leake pitched eight sparkling innings, Mitch Haniger drove in three runs and the Seattle Mariners snapped a season-high five-game losing streak with a 7-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Saturday.
