The Braves and the Mets will play their second series of the season with the Braves winning the first set, 2-1. The road team has found success recently with the Braves going 11-7 in New York and the Mets going 15-8 in Atlanta since 2016.

The Braves are averaging 5.59 runs per game this season, most in the NL. They also rank second in MLB in batting average at .268 (Red Sox, .273) and first in on-base percentage at .342.

The Mets had nine players record at least two hits in their win over the Padres on Sunday. This is the first time at least nine batters had multiple hits in a game in Mets history and the first team to do so since the Red Sox in 2015.

Ronald Acuña Jr. has eight hits in his first five games, tied for the most by a Braves player since the franchise moved to Atlanta in 1966. Five of those hits were extra base hits, most by an Atlanta Braves player in their first five games.

NEW YORK -- The New York Mets realized the Atlanta Braves were pretty good during a three-game series in Atlanta in April. But now that the Braves have added two more fresh-faced prospects, the Mets and the rest of the National League East may have their hands full a little sooner than expected.
The Braves will look to move into first place in the NL East on Wednesday night, when they face the host Mets in the middle contest of a three-game series at Citi Field. Atlanta earned a 3-2 victory in Tuesday's opener and has outscored New York 22-14 in winning three of four meetings this season.
