The Rangers won five out of seven games against Cleveland in 2016, before the Indians won six of seven games in the series in 2017. In the first game of this matchup played in Cleveland last season (June 26), the Indians scored 15 runs, which was their highest scoring total in all of 2017.

The Rangers have won 11 games thus far in 2018, the most wins by any division's last-place team. They hold a .538 winning percentage on the road and a .250 winning percentage at home. That differential (.288) is the second-largest in MLB (Angels, .513).

Cleveland is currently on a two-game losing streak, and has allowed 10 or more runs in back-to-back games for the first time since August 2016. The Indians are 7-2 (.777) against division opponents this season; only the Pirates have been better against their own division (8-2, .800).

Cole Hamels has 39 strikeouts in 2018, averaging 10.1 Ks per nine innings; both rank fifth among American League lefties (minimum 1 IP/Team G). In three road starts this season, Hamels is 1-1 with a 3.63 ERA, striking out 11.4 batters per nine innings.

Trevor Bauer has posted quality starts in each of his last four outings, and has not allowed more than three earned runs in a start this season. He is just 2-2 this season despite a 2.41 ERA -- the second-lowest ERA among pitchers with a .500 or worse record and 30.0 innings pitched (Reynaldo Lopez, CWS -- 1.78).

The Indians are the only team in MLB with a winning record despite having fewer than 100 runs scored this season, and are the only division leaders with a negative run differential. Their .223 team batting average and .292 OBP are the second-lowest and lowest in MLB, respectively.

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Indians are letting their longest homestand of the season slip away without taking advantage of it. But reigning American League Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber will be on the mound Wednesday afternoon trying to change that.
Kluber and the Indians will host the Texas Rangers in the finale of a three-game series in which the two teams have split the first two contests. The Indians have lost five of the first eight games of this 11-game homestand.

Encarnacion homered three times and drove in six runs, helping Corey Kluber and the Cleveland Indians beat the Texas Rangers 12-4 on Wednesday.
