Oakland's 6-5 home victory against Seattle last September 27 snapped the Mariners' overall eight-game win streak over the A's. Seattle does still own an active four-game home win streak in this series, however.

The Seattle Mariners finally got some good news on the injury front.
Designated hitter Nelson Cruz took batting practice and ran the bases Friday when the Mariners returned home from a seven-game trip. Cruz seems on track to be activated from the 10-day disabled list before Saturday night's game against the Oakland Athletics at Safeco Field.

SEATTLE (AP)  Daniel Vogelbach took advantage of a throwing error and scored from second base on an infield hit. He made a key scoop at first base to complete a needed double play and end an inning.
Important plays, yes. But they were secondary moments to a home run he won't soon forget.
