The Astros' pitching staff is averaging a league-best 10.1 K/9 this season. The only team in MLB history to average 10+ K/9 in a season was the 1884 Milwaukee Cream Citys (12.0) of the Union Association. But that team (called the Brewers when joined the UA) spent the majority of the 1884 season in the Northwestern League, playing just 12 games in the UA after the Northwestern League season ended.

Prior to this season, Josh Reddick had never had a double, triple and home run in the same game in his MLB career. He's done that twice in 2017: against the Angels on April 19 and on Thursday against the A's.

Mike Zunino had just one home run and four runs batted in through games of May 31. But he has exploded this month, hitting eight homers and knocking in a league-high 26 runs. The franchise single-season mark for the most RBI in June is held by Edgar Martinez, who recorded 32 RBI in June 1995.

Joe Musgrove has pitched much better at night this season, posting a 3.83 ERA in his eight nighttime starts compared to an 8.05 ERA in his four day starts. That 4.22 ERA differential is the third largest in the majors (minimum four day & four night starts) (ERA in night starts lower).

Felix Hernandez is scheduled to make his first MLB start since going on the disabled list with right shoulder bursitis on April 26. He has lost his last four starts versus the Astros. This is tied for the longest such streak of his career versus any single opponent; he dropped four straight starts against the Rangers, April 6-September 24, 2011.

SEATTLE (AP)  The Houston Astros went into their game at Safeco Field leading the majors in home runs. They quickly added to that total.
George Springer, Yuli Gurriel and Evan Gattis hit long home runs and the Astros wrapped up another winning road trip, beating the Seattle Mariners 8-2 Sunday.
