Washington has won each of its last three season openers, the second-longest active streak in the National League entering 2015 (LAD, four). It is only the third time in franchise history the team has won three straight openers (four, 1981-84; three, 2001-03).

New York ranked ninth in the major leagues last season with 985.0 innings pitched by its starting staff. It was the most innings thrown by Mets starters since 2005 (1022.2).

Since 2011, Ian Desmond's 16 home runs against New York are his most against any team as well as the most by any Mets opponent. Desmond's next closest victim since then is Atlanta with nine.
