Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Brad Miller hit two home runs, including a grand slam in the fifth inning, to help the Seattle Mariners to a 7-5 win over the Oakland Athletics on Saturday.
Justin Smoak hit a two-run home run for the Mariners, who have won three of their last four games. Brandon Maurer (5-8) gave up two runs on six hits with a walk and five strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings.
The loss by Oakland means the team will finish with the second seed in the American League as Boston clinched the top spot with the Athletics' loss.
Brandon Moss hit a two-run home run while Alberto Callaspo smacked a solo shot and drove in two for the Athletics, who saw starter Jarrod Parker (12-8) give up seven runs on seven hits over 4 1/3 innings.
