Caicedo signed a contract extension with Espanyol in November, and the Catalan club acknowledged that a number of offers for the Ecuadorian forward have landed on its doorstep during the January transfer window. According to Marca, Caicedo is drawing interest from Everton and Newcastle United.
Through 20 La Liga appearances this season, Caicedo is the Catalan club's top scorer with six goals. He is also largely responsible for Ecuador's national team kicking off its 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign in historic fashion, as his four goals across the two-year marathon's first four matchdays have resulted in La Tri sitting atop the standings and undefeated.
In conversation with Espanyol TV, Caicedo affirmed his happiness at being part the club.
