Report: Gareth Bale's calf injury likely to keep him out 2-3 weeks
Gareth Bale's calves have betrayed him once again.
The calf injury that Bale suffered during Real Madrid's 5-1 thrashing of Sporting de Gijon on Sunday is likely to keep him out for two-to-three weeks, according to AS.
Although the injury appeared to be to his right calf, Zinedine Zidane, speaking after the La Liga fixture, claimed that Bale damaged his left calf. "Gareth's injury is a bit more complicated," Zidane said. "It's in the soleus, and in the left one too. It's another problem but we'll wait and see what the scans say tomorrow. I hope it's nothing serious."
Both AS and Guillem Balague report that Bale will undergo a scan on Tuesday.
Bale has suffered five previous injuries to his left calf, and two weeks on the sidelines would mean that he misses Real Madrid's trip to Real Betis as well as Los Blancos' match at home to Espanyol.
Disappointed to come off, will work hard to get back on the pitch! Nevertheless, big win from the boys #halamadrid pic.twitter.com/VTq4gK9S2a
