Sergio Ramos, Marcelo will miss Champions League match vs. Shakhtar Donetsk
Real Madrid, fresh off its humbling at the hands of Barcelona, will be without two starting defenders in Wednesday's Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk.
The club revealed its 20-man squad for the contest at the Arena Lviv, with Sergio Ramos and Marcelo notably absent.
The Spaniard is presumably still dealing with a lingering shoulder issue that's long required cortisone shots in order for him to play through the pain, as was the case in the weekend's El Clasico. There has been no official word if Ramos will undergo surgery on the ailing shoulder, something that, according to many reports, was scheduled to take place after the Barcelona contest.
Marcelo, meanwhile, is dealing with an adductor problem sustained Saturday. No timeline for his recovery and return was provided.
Madrid, sitting atop Group A on ten points, has already qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League. A win on Wednesday would secure first place in the section - and, in theory, a more favourable draw in the Round of 16.
