Barcelona midfielder Rafinha's long road to recovery is set to commence as he gets ready to undergo surgery Tuesday to repair his injured knee.
The Brazilian international, who suffered the injury during a Champions League group stage match against Roma, will undergo the procedure to repair the cruciate ligament in his right knee, the team announced.
Doctors Ramon Cugat and Ricard Pruna will perform the procedure, with Barcelona's medical staff providing an update shortly after the surgery.
The has yet to announce a timetable for his return, but similar injuries to players in the past suggest Rafinha will miss a majority of the season.
