Report: Cristiano Ronaldo reaps over $255K per promotional tweet
Scrolling through Cristiano Ronaldo's Twitter account, followed by just under 38 million users, one finds no shortage of promotional tweets.
Whether it be from Nike, Herbalife, or TAG Heuer, Ronaldo's profile is littered with advertising, often spaced out between tweets involving his teammates, his family, and haircuts.
Such promoting, however, is reportedly calculated.
According to AS, which picked up on a report by Opendorse, a company that connects marketers with athletes to build endorsement campaigns, Ronaldo receives more money from Twitter posts than any of his counterparts, earning €230,366 ($255,959) for each promotional tweet he publishes.
LeBron James, whose Twitter account is followed by approximately 23.5 million users, apparently ranks second, receiving €125,638 ($139,596) per promotional tweet.
Also on the list is Ronaldo's teammate, James Rodriguez, who apparently earns €40,032 ($44,479) for each promotional tweet posted on his Twitter account.
