Barcelona confirms extension talks with Neymar will take place soon
Negotiations to keep Neymar at the Camp Nou beyond his current contract are on the verge of taking place.
Barcelona technical director Robert Fernandez expressed his confidence over keeping the talented Brazilian in the Catalan capital, adding that talks to extend his current deal, which ends in 2018, are expected to begin shortly.
"It's a negotiation that we will begin very soon, and we will very likely reach an agreement," Fernandez told Spanish outlet Sport.
Talks of an extension follow reports that emerged before the transfer window closed that linked the 23-year-old with a move to Manchester United, as the English outfit were prepared to meet the £130-million buyout clause in Neymar's contract
However, his agent was quick to squash the rumours, as some critics looked at the report as a negotiating tactic to increase Neymar's leverage when his representatives meet with Barcelona.
