The Brazilian, who spent last season on loan with Porto and impressed during his time in Portugal, should have an opportunity to see extended minutes this season under Rafa Benitez, as the departures of Sami Khedira and Asier Illarramendi have left Casemiro as one of the manager's first midfield options off the bench.
