Atletico Madrid reaches agreement with Deportivo Cali for Rafael Santos Borre
Colombian phenom Rafael Santos Borre will be following in the footsteps of Carlos Valderrama.
Atletico Madrid reached an agreement with Deportivo Cali on Friday for the transfer of the 19-year-old forward that will see him join the Spanish club on a six-year contract. The first of those six seasons, however, will be spent on loan at Cali, meaning Santos Borre won't move to the Vicente Calderon until next summer.

Santos Borre is living a dream many of Colombia's youngsters share, which is to develop a reputation in the country's domestic football scene and secure an immediate move to a club in one of Europe's top five leagues. At Cali, Valderrama and Cristian Zapata are two of the only players to have made such a switch.
The hype surrounding Santos Borre is understandable. He was only 17 years old when he made his professional debut for Cali, and he's tallied 11 goals through 15 appearances in 2015 with the club. At the international level, he featured for Colombia at this summer's Under-20 World Cup, finding the back of the net against Portugal in the group stage.
