Manchester City announces signing of Aleix Garcia from Villarreal

Manchester City announced the signing of Aleix Garcia, an 18-year-old midfielder, from Villarreal on Thursday, in a deal reportedly valued at £2.1 million.

It's not the recruitment City supporters are waiting on, but it's a solid acquisition nonetheless.

Garcia only made one competitive appearance at Villarreal, clocking 12 minutes as a substitute in a La Liga fixture last season. Despite the lack of experience, however, the youngster is looking forward to the next chapter of his career.

"A new step is starting at Manchester City," he wrote on Twitter, "thanks for everything to my family of Villarreal CF, always FORWARD!"
